Talking hands

TALKING HANDS is a gestural performance interface that translates the hand movements of the performer into speech and breathing sounds of an artificial voice.
The human hand with its range of fine motor movements becomes a “speaking instrument”. Similar to an acoustic puppet the synthetic voice follows the hand and finger movements in the form of a gestural-phonetic alphabet..

The LEDs, positioned at the measuring points of the sensor, make the gestural commands visible on the hand itself.
