The LIGHT PIANO is a playable object and a trans-medial musical instrument. The keys generate rays of light that in turn are translated into sound by sine-oscillators. The brightness defines the volume while particular pitch depends on the spatial position of the lights.
 

Surrounding and ambient lighting influence the delicate sounds of the light piano. The characteristics of the light – dimming, interference and dazzling – determine the character of the sound.
